Second baseman Adam Kennedy blasted a homerun and had 6 RBI and Chris Young
took a no-hitter into the 6th inning as the Tombstone Huckleberries
man-handled the St. Paul Saints - the final score was 13 to 1.
Kennedy was spectacular at the plate. He doubled resulting in a run in the
6th inning, doubled plating three runs in the 7th inning and blasted a
two-run home run (his 2nd of the season) in the 8th inning. Tombstone
finished with 15 hits while St. Paul ended up with 5.
The victory went to Young(1-0) who went 7 and 2/3 innings, allowing 1 run.
The right-handed Young lost his chance for a no-hitter when Chris Burke
doubled with one out in the 6th inning. Adam Eaton(0-2) absorbed the loss.
Kennedy was in a good mood after the game, 'I'm just seeing and hitting the
ball real well now. I made some adjustments last week and they are paying
off. That's what this game is about. making adjustments as the season goes
along.'
